LAURI VAN RUN, MALAYSIA GENERAL MANAGER

Lauri Van Run has been with Scott Wilson since 1991 and has over 20 years working experience mainly in the technical and design engineering for airports.

Lauri's early experience was with Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Authorities and was involved in airport master planning, terminal building extensions airport design and airport operations. In 1981, he joined the International Civil Aviation Organization, a United Nations Agency for a period of 5 years. Since joining Scott Wilson in 1991, he participated in the majority of the firm's major projects i.e. as a Project Manager (Zimbabwe) for Harare International Airport Development Project and was the design team leader for the new runway, taxiways and apron at Victoria Falls International Airport in Zimbabwe. In particular, he was appointed as the Head of Aviation Department in 1998 and was in charge of Airport Development Projects in the African Region.

In 1997, Lauri was appointed as a Director to NACO (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. He was the team leader of a multidisciplinary management and engineering team, which provides Technical Management Services for the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Development Project.

Lauri was also the main player in the airfield pavement design for cargo, remote parking and aircraft maintenance aprons and taxiways at Second Bangkok International Airport (SBIA) Project. He is currently the Technical and Construction Manager for the construction of all airside infrastructure of the SBIA. He was also involved in the design of the runway extension and the re-design of aircraft pavements for use of the Airbus A380 aircraft.
