Scott Wilson in Lao PDR

Scott Wilson had been active in Laos since 1996 when it was commissioned by Daewoo Corporation of South Korea to provide specialist personnel services for the Houay Ho Hydropower Project. The project was completed in 1999 to supply bulk electricity to Thailand under a 30 year PPA. It was followed in 1997 by the ADB funded project Power System Planning Study which studied power requirements for the country until the year 2020. Since then various power projects followed most recent of which is Nam Theun 2 Hydropower Project where the firm provided advisory services to the Lao Government on a privately financed 900 MW hydropower export project.

The Firm's first road project in Lao PDR is the ADB funded Roads for Rural Development in the Vientiane Provinces in 2002 which comprises of an evaluation of flood damage to the road RN3, design of rehabilitation works and production of contract documents based on FIDIC conditions of contract, suitable for local contractors.
